Default Windshield sun shades

What kind of sun shades does everybody use? I have been using the almost round ones with the wire that folds like a figure eight and then into a small circle. Anything better for storage and coverage?
thanks

It fits the windshield and is shiny on the outside to reflect with a C5 logo and beige on the inside. Rolls up easy and stores in the cargo net. Got it at Ecklers.

I've used the circle for years. Really like the design.

I prefer the Covercraft UVS custom sunshields. Reflective silver outside, soft grey felt on the inside, and foam core sewn in the middle. Fits perfectly and folds up quickly when not needed. Insulated foam core helps keep interior temps down too.

Id love to see pics of those on your vert. Do you have pics of them open and closed? When retracted, do they flap around in the wind when you drive with the top down at high speeds? Do they sag in the middle when they are deployed, or do they remain rigid to protect the entire dash from the sun?

Thanks

I used a foldable heavy duty one that is available through Ecklers. Comes either with a C5 logo or without one. Very good product - I have had mine for about 8 years and even though I don't have a C5 anymore, I still use it in my DD (Equinox Sport) - fits just fine.

Thanks for posting. I like that you can remove them from the pillars. Are they fragile? Im looking forward to more pics if you have the time. Im very interested to see how thick they are and how obtrusive they may appear. Do they block your vision while cornering in back roads?

They do not flap in the wind when retracted and I have had the car to a little over 85 with the top down. They do not sag in the middle because they go between the windshield and the rear view mirror when closed thus the mirror provides center support. The entire dash is protected when they are drawn. The only down side I find is that they take about an inch on each of the pillars when in the retracted position. But I find that more acceptable than trying to store the other types when not in use. The center closure is velcro and works fine.

Here's a link to some pics I took this afternoon. Some day I will figure out how to embed pictures directly here.

I do not have my dash mat in the car right now as it is out for a custom logo embroidery. Shades sit on top of the dash mat normally.

If you go with these shades be very careful positioning them as the hangers for the shades have a very strong self stick tape and you only get one chance to stick the hangers in place. If I had it to do over I would position mine about 1/2 inch higher than they currently are installed. Replacement hangers are available but they cost like $10.

Tint your windsheild, and inspection stickers are overrated.
