[Z06] Haters! New year resolution
I ignore. I ignore. I change lanes, i let you go.. but no, i get tailed like as if i am towing your freaking heap of scrap.
What is the freaking deal?
I earned my Z. Period. Whats so difficult to understand?
What is the freaking point of tailing? are we trying to investigate some magnetic attraction? What pain of a ***** in the rear that would force anyone to roll up so close and annoy the hell out of another person?
in a hyundai no less? What is the expectation? I will keep up with him? I will overtake him?!! or Yay i pissed him off!
Whats the reasoning of such genius?
And the most unbelievable experience is when i let people pass, by pulling into the slow lane. They honk, for what seems like 10 mins. But what for? you are the neanderthal with your stunts.
dont get it.. just dont get it. how can a person hate someone else for a car (no less) that they purchased with the money they earn.
unbelievable.
This year, my resolution is i wont be annoyed by such maggots. Your objective is to **** me off or race me. Right? well i will pull into the slow lane, drive 5 under the speed limit. Till i cant see your un-sociable *** . For all i know you dont even have insurance, live with your mom, and work a dead end job.

i dont think he's talking about people "trying to get a closer look", theres people that get right on your *** and ride it like they're hoping you slam on your brakes and get nailed...
they do this to me in my boxster and it irritates the hell out of me.. when im in the slow lane, with cruise control set, and minding my own business, im clearly not "racing" anyone... yet they still feel the need to ride my *** when the passing lane is WIDE open...
ill never understand it.
it's pretty hard to enjoy a ride in a vette
Problem solved. But, then you'll have new ones to worry about.
You may also want to carry a weapon for backup just in case. Probably even a good idea to have another car with your armed buddies in it to back ya up. Also, have a plan for ditching the body if things escalate, and have extra room for any witnesses. Might also help to have some influence on the local police department. Good health insurance might be prudent also.
Either way, don't take no ****. These feelings will build up and you will become an angry, mean person -- start kicking your dog and all that stuff. Channel that energy into the guy's nose and maybe even his headlights and windows. You'll feel damn worthy and won't be ashamed of your inaction to teach these punks a lesson.
Seriously, I think most tailgaters don't even realize what they are doing -- it's just the way they drive. The bumper tapper and the race baiters...well.....see above..just don't pick on a guy bigger than you, more armed than you, or whose sister works for the FBI.

If they are riding your tail and the fast lane is open, I don't know what their problem is?
Just be sure you're in third for a quick acceleration burst.
Eh, avoidance is still the best policy. No matter what, I just wave and turn my head forward with people rev'ing to race. For tailgaters, a mild brake check is employed. If no effect, I pass someone and pull in front of them (safe distance) with slightly no room for the tailgater to follow suit.
With serious harrassment................I have a CCL and a Glock model 26. Never have had to go there, but I'm prepared like a Boy Scout.

I agree the best policy is avoidance but if push comes to shove I'm usually armed with a P11 and a PX4C both in 9. The Glock 26 which is also chambered in 9mm is great for carry as well with adequate stopping power.

Becuase your car will damn sure stop harder than theirs. I have had a few people do that to me too. And for some reason its especially when I am going 65 in a 55.
I did mention i pull into the slow lane, even if i was faster than everyone *and* (note! please note) even when i was going the same speed as everyone in my lane in heavy traffic, i pull into the slow lane (where possible!), to allow the holier-than-thou to pass.
Sometimes there is just one lane and i have to do the speed limit (cops) or people around (near a strip mall for instance) since i dont have a burning desire to mow people down.
Still i get tailed? So whats your reasoning? you seem to share the sentiments of the genious that tail me.
BTW to answer your "maybe you just think it's worse because the Corvette sits low and makes it look like people are closer than when you are driving other cars"
i am not 9. I know where the ends of my car are and where yours would begin while i am being tailed.
Thanks for your post. That just proves the number of smart folks around ;1. dont comprehend 2. dont pay attention 3. think they are right and therefore can dole out what they think is justice " I hate you too" & "should also be legal to bounce you self centered a-holes clear off the road" (really? Good that your vote counts only once and that NRA is alive and thriving); come in all forms everywhere.
Maybe you should dust off your high-horse and come join the reality. I have yet to see someone pull into the right lane after passing. Have you driven in US sir?

I have no issues when i am unknowingly riding the left lane (happens when the traffic in your blindspot gets off), and get tailed, have head lights flashed. I promplty move over. no issues.
But tailed for no reason whatsover. I dont get that.
I can certainly agree that there are jerks that want to challange you just because you are in a Vette. Kind of like "The Waco Kid" in Blazing Saddles, every young gun slinger wants to challenge you because if the unlikely happens they can brag about it forever.
On the other side of the coin (so to speak), there are some that just want to admire our beautiful cars. I am one of them. One day driving home from work I saw a Lamborghini Diablo cruising along the freeway. I was behind him, off to the side admiring his ride for a couple of minutes. I pull up next to him and gave him a "thumbs up", he replies by flipping me the bird.

Dont ever brake check people! You brake checked the guy riding your *** and endangered everyone around you who is INNOCENT! You are in a deadly weapon if you see it that way. you brake check me and i see it as making an attempt on my life. Besides you are only going to make the other person more pissed off and they may try and return the favor.
All you tough guys with your firearms in your car better think twice before pulling it out in anything short of a car jacking. you will be doing some time in a police station, court and maybe even jail. Might i suggest you remove yourself from the situation first.
I enjoy cruising into work, down the hwy 70+ in the slow lane listening to the tunes. Then you get some jerk off that wants ride your a$$ for no reason. Left lane is clear to pass. I'm fairly mild mannered but I hate getting pushed down the hwy. I first tap the brakes and wait for a responds. If the person does not back off or pass, then plan "B". The air slip stream from a Z extends staight back about 15 to 20 feet behind the car at 70+. When a nicely flipped light cigerate lands squarely on their windsheild, it curtaily gets their attention. You may get the fingure when they pass but their off your a$$. Never had the same person tail gate me twice.
The only problem I experience that is even remotely close to your description is people that try to race with me(very rarely) when I'm commuting to work. I think, that they think, I'm racing with them even though I'm just going to work, or coming home from work.
My suggestion is for you to analyze your driving and it's impact on the traffic. There must be something you're doing that is causing people to mess with you.
