Default Maintenance Question.....

My 2002 Coupe has 60125 miles. Last owner did regular service at the dealership but nothing major. He bought it with 44k from bill heard 2 years ago. Is it time for a major service or just wait a while?

I'm sure others will chime in. However, off the top of my head, the only things I could possibly suggest to you as a preventive measure is change the serp belt (good idea after 50K miles if not already done). Tranny fluid should be good to 100k but some change at 70K or even 50K. Column lock?

Option #1
You can do a basic check of fluids, belts, hoses, and spark plugs. If everything's okay, you're good to go.

Option #2
Change EVERYTHING that would normally be swapped in a tune up including trans fluid, coolant flush and brake fluid.

There are lots of things to check - belts and hoses as previously mentioned, you should also consider transmission fluid, differential fluid, brake system flush and fill, coolant and of course oil.

While the car is on the lift, the sway bar bushings could be greased with some dielectric grease, and the shocks should be checked for wear and leaking. If the brake pads are OEM, you could consider a swap for some new ones.

Thank you for all your replies. I've done an oil change with synthetic. I also already did a tranny fluid change. I guess all thats left is check the belts, hoses and bushings. BTW, does anyone know a shop in around Atlanta that does performance stuff?
