i have a stock 2002 zo6 with 3000 miles on it and i just put corsa exhaust and air kit,a few people told me for 300 dollars i need a tune and will pick up 20hp. sounds funny to me . what do you think ?
i'm in the same boat. I installed intake and exhaust, but plan on LG headers soon so I'm holding off for tune and dyno. Yes, you will pick up some power with a tune.
Do you plan on adding anything else to the car? Check around your area and see what they charge for a retune after adding mods.
I think that a tune is a good idea. After simple mods like a CAI and exhaust, a tune is the cheapest HP you can pick up. Getting 20 extra horses is very possible.

this is my second zo6 ,the first was stock and i had it for two years,im very happy with 405hp. the car is a handful stock.just the exhaust and air kit and i will be fine with this power,''but'' if i can get somemore power with just a tune;;well// thats on my mind so would a tune help me with these mods, and would it be worth it?

I picked up 13hp and 28 ft/lbs tq. For $300 that is a good gain. I got my A/F ratios setup right. Which is where the power came from. The factory setup had the car running pig rich. I also got my cooling fan on/off temps changed, removed torque management, skip shift, etc... So you get more than just horsepower. All I had was a K&N filter in the stock air box.
On my 2nd Z06, also an 02, the car was too lean. So again the A/F ratios got set better along with the other changes. I ended up not gaining much since lean makes more horsepower. It was too lean for a car that goes to the track.
It's a modification to the stock air box. People cut an opening in the cover and use long zip ties to hold everything together. I don't have this so I may not be describing exactly correct, but pretty close. Search around and you'll find pics.

I am finding this very hard to believe, that is probably not SAE corrected RWHP. If your car is really making 385 SAE RWHP than you are making more power than most long tube header, high flow cat, and cold air box equipped and tuned Z06s.
Just get a 160 stat, and get the tune, if u r happy with stock than please leave it like that, dont add headers because no SOTP feel from stop light-stop light, yeah it kicks at around may be 3000 rpm.
There r few good tuners in FL, EFIAlchemy, HPS, mike norris...and may be some more.

so your saying that with my mods 'corsa exhaust, air intake, and a 160 degree thermostate, that i should forget headers and just get a tune with these mods? would it be worth it
