Default CD changer install

I need instructions or pictures on how to install CD changer in trunk area.
Thanks.

Feb. 24th, 2009 I bought a Changer off e-bay, bought a harness off e-bay. Hooked
up unit and unit worked okay. I will fabricate a mount for the trunk area. Dealer said that only
a Delco OEM unit #25685332 would work; But, I found a unit mfg. May 1998 #12480904 that works great with my 2000 C5 with Bose radio. I have no trouble playing a CD+R recorded discs.

Hope this helps someone.

Was there a changer in the vette before? If so you would have the harness running to the headunit and two piece frame that holds the changer to the back trunk wall. If not, it may be a bit involved. I think I would try posting in the Audio Section and contacting Forum member pentavolvo for assistance. Good luck.

I used search using keywords "cd changer installation" and found this past thread.

Within that thread are some helpful links to other past discussions and by member patches. It's what I used to install the oem CD changer in my Z16 which did not have the harness from the factory...

if the car didn't come with a changer from the factory, you will need a changer harness.
GM makes a CD Changer installation kit that you can order from your local chevy dealer.

The GM CD changer kit was discontinued some time ago. You might get lucky and find one collecting dust on a shelf somewhere.
When I ordered mine, the supporting vendor (Bob @ FICHTNER CHEVROLET) checked the dealership database of every connected dealer in the country. There were three dealers that had them. That was a year ago.
