Default New motor?

Its finally happened the mod bug has bit.

I am looking for 600HP and am planning on a LS2 stroked and forged 427 with a nasty cam. Has anyone done this and how do you like it. Any input would be a great help.

I'm not sure you can get 427 out of an LS2 block. LS3 and 4.100" stroke crank will get you there, or an LS7 with a 4" crank.

You're going to need some good heads too. ET LS7 heads FTW

I am waiting for the local shop to give me the detailed estimate. They did say they would use LS7 heads. As soon as I have the estimate I will post it.

Id go with either a sleeved LS2 or a LS7 block, I dont like that long of a stroke when you do the LS3 427. Ive seen good results from the West Coast ported LS7 heads. Those heads with a nice cam, a good ported intake/ TB, headers, and all of the other little bolt ons will get you close to 600 at the wheels. Ive seen a few of these set-ups on C6Z's.

Oh and if you get a LS7 block make sure they drill it for the dip stick, I know someone that bought one and the machine shop didnt drill the hole for it.

There is just something about being able to mount those "427" letters on the hood that makes me grin!

Lots of combos can be made, check the engine page here for example...

Understood, but "454" would leave you with more than a grin...
