How long have your high flow cats held up? I am ordering my long tubes on friday and i am not sure about the cats. Not worried about losing power but i am worried about the cats going bad in a few thousand miles.
I'd just forego the cats. Since they supposedly won't pass a smog test anywhere, there's almost no reason to run them. That and the fact that at least with the LGs and cats, the fitment is horrible.

Except for that pesky fact that they are required. My LG cats have passed smog for the last 4 years with no problems. Also, mine fit perfectly; I see allot of LG headers, cats ect fit bad post yet mine couldn't have gone on easier. I can only wonder what people are doing wrong, header/cat installs aren't hard. I've had LG cats on for 4 years with no problems at all so I dont know about them going bad, I do know that race fuel and/or antifreeze coolant (coolant in your exhaust like from a blown head gasket ect) will make them go bad.

While they are required, there are no LEGAL aftermarket cats made. Most people cannot pass smog with the cats on the LG setup.
Sooo just foregoing them is a better LEGAL solution?
Neither is LEGAL so it's up to you. Things are either legal or illegal. More legal is just to make you feel better about doing something illegal. I mean I'm running the cats myself, but I don't cloud my perception with thinking they are in any way legal.
Don't state no legal cats unless you can back it up with the law, not just none to your knowledge, also if you speak of the **** state of california only please be sure to state that.
In Idaho it's ILLEGAL to remove a completely functional catalytic converter, that means you are BREAKING THE LAW regardless of if you put on LT's with or without cats.
