I have been frequenting this forum for several months now and have learned much & been well entertained. Thank you all! So HELLO to everyone....I purchased my first (and only so far) C5 back in June of 08. A stock 1999 MN6 mag. red coupe w/18k miles. I think a nice find. I have experienced a few of the commonly referred to issues ie: leaky butt, eratic gas gague, & a lunatic key fob. These have been resolved with help from the info. garnished by me just "lurking". And now, thanks to you all I feel a little mod. fever coming on! Question: while my car was hooked up to the dealer's computer (trying to figure out key fob problem) the mechanic informed me " this has an aftermarket chip in it,no doubt performance enhancing. Definately not GM OEM". Could this be evidence of a "tune"?? Thanks in advance for any thoughts.
Welcome aboard, don't forget pics Never heard of anyone having an aftermarket chip, but you will no doubt get your answer from one of the knowledgable folks. Oh and if it's not an aftermarket chip, I probably wouldn't go back to that shop
Stock exhaust w/ dirty tips & bad lighting to see them. They will be the first thing to go this spring. Followed closely by the wagon wheels & runcraps. I've been spending probably too much time looking @ catbacks & wheels. Alot of fun though. I'm liking Borla Stingers, Ace Slick Hyperblack Wheels W/ Goodyear GS-D3s. Anyone have pic. of Ace Slick Hyperblacks on mag. red? Open to suggestions.
That's a beautiful car and the paint looks great. Good miles for a 99' too. Hope you are enjoying it. I know i got a Diablo Sport tuner for my car and it says never take it to the dealer with the tune in. Screws them and the tune up maybe. I can take it out if I want to because it's all through the computer hook up under the dash. You may have that or any other type of tune.
