Default VARARAM vs VORTEX

Have been trolling other websites gathering info for CAI system on stock 02 Z. Looks like it comes down to one of these two.
I was leaning toward the Vararam until I read it leaves a gap large enough to allow debris to enter the engine compartment. Can someone comment ? If this is true, what have you done to eliminate the gap?

I run a BPP vortex and noticed no difference from it. I hear people rave about the vararam and think I should try it sometimes.

My Vararam fits fine and the car runs great. Great people to deal with also.

I have the VR with the new Power Duct. Both fit well with no gaps.As a general practice,I clean & re-oil the K&N filter every 30 days or 1k miles.

Being low to the ground it gets dirty fairly quickly.

It's a good looking unit.

I would recommend both to anyone.
