Only the second time I've been pulled over in my Z in 4 years. 69 in a 60.... good thing the radar detector was doing it's job or it would have been MUCH worse
Anyway, cop was a *****, fix it tickets for my rear plate tinted cover, my taillight blackouts, speeding warning, and $86 freaking bucks for illegal tint. I mean come the fk on... give me a 30 day fix it ticket for that too. Guess even the coppers need to generate some revenue. And no he wasn't a ***** because he gave me tickets, he was a ***** based on his attitude and demeanor so save it.
So is VHT NightShade illegal? I am running a 10% 12 inch bar on the windshield, 15% on top of 15% on all my windows and everything is VHT'd completely out.
Heh, some people's attitudes do not directly correalate to their job, I agree. You could probably find the same kind of attitude towards others in other jobs, but I guess you've got to tough it out. I actually think window tint is really cool, but I checked out provincial law for Alberta, and no tint is allowed good thing I checked that out...othwerwise I might make the same post you are now in the future
Removing the tint for a fix-it ticket and getting it redone after would prolly cost more...unless of course you're talented enough to do it yourself - and if so, you know well that C5 side windows are a biotch so it's still not a bad deal.
hey sorry to hear about the ***** cop..what an a...h...ole.
dont pull your tint, just go back to whomever installed it, and ask them for a receipt that they pulled it. you go to court, show the judge probably another ***....h....le, and problem fixed.
i have 20% on side windows, and limo on rear hatch, live in arizona, so i guess cops here understand......
Hey man sorry about the tickets. I see you are you the military so do you have out of state plates (it may help). In the past the LEO's haven't bother me about tinting with out of state plates. I also put down all my windows when and if I get pulled over (I know it doesn't help w/ the rear window).

No, I never write tint tickets. I also havn't written a speeding ticket in about four years. I speed WAY too much when i'm not at work, hell, I speed at work too. Don't want the bad karma of making someone else pay money for the same thing I do. As a rule I only write someone a ticket if they don't pay taxes. Scumbag who dosn't have a job because they sling on the corner or are way too happy to let others pay their ride get tickets. Just my little way of making those who don't contribute pay a little . Actually, lots of us are like this.

Hell yeah! This is a great post. I have been raising this type of question for years on various forums and finally a LEO posts a real answer. Glad to see you're not a hypocrite.
As far as the OP here..... I don't understand why you can get pissed off about getting cited - when you KNOW you are driving around with a car that has NUMEROUS and highly VISIBLE illegal modifications. One of my close friends is local LEO and I always ask him if a exterior mod is OK or not, BEFORE I start driving all over.
