Did the console itself break or just the piece that the lid snaps into? If its the one the lid snaps into it can be removed by squeezing the two tabs together and it slides out the top. This is with the console removed where you can access the bottom side of course. Even if its the console itself that can be replaced by a used piece and i have saw them sell for as cheap as $50. Good luck on your fix.
The center consol no longer latches, looks like the the part were it is suppose to clip in broke.
The stealership wants like $300-400 to fix it.
Any one else's ever break and able to do a cheap fix?
Yup, happened to me a while ago, the surrounding area of the piece that the lid clips into broke. I tried some super glue, worked for a week....yada yada yada,
Its still broken today.

Check with both of the used parts vendors that are listed on the left side of the screen near the bottom of the vendor listing. They might have just what you need.
You need to get the WHOLE center console (minus the lid) which is...yeah like $400-$500 (from dealer anyway) and just the little peice the lid clips into is about $50+ IIRC.....
I was looking for a console latch as well.. Just looked at GM parts house and found the latch for $18.73, plus an outrageous $8.95 for UPS ground shipping... Something that small can go USPS 2 day for $3. MSRP is $25.28, which means that if the local dealer is selling at MSRP, I can get the part cheaper there.

...or use this opportunity to bling up the interior and buy a carbonfiber look or painted center console. You will need to cover the core replacement cost, however it's an option.
