I know what you're saying. Problem is if you compress the springs to lower the body, you'll drop the ride height of the car. I say go with bigger wheels and lower profile tires if you're just looking to fill in the wheel well
Well, USUALLY what scrapes the most is that front air dam/spoiler assembly. It's not unheard of for some folks to lower their car a bit, and then trim a corresponding amount off the bottom of those air dams. That way, the part that's always scraping, isn't any closer to the ground when you're done.
However, be aware that the air dam also functions as a cooling aid for the engine. You'll probably be fine trimming 1/2" to 1" off the bottom, but any more (or removing it outright) can hurt your cooling ability.
That's really the only way I can think of, to lower your car without increasing the scraping potential (unless you go over something REALLY big that will contact the bottom of the car itself...)
