Damn Chevy Dealer!!!!
I just bought a silver 04 z06. 13K miles, extra clean!! It's a GM certified vehicle so they offered me an extended 3year/36K mile GM warranty. It was a good price, so I went for it. I was looking over my contract, and I noticed that I have a $100 deductible. That's not bad, but what is bad, the finance guy said NOTHING about a deductible!!! He should have at least mentioned the deductible!!

Not sure you can get a zero deductible on a car that old at this time. However, you should ask if they made a mistake and wrote the wrong policy for your car. Never know it might work.

I'm calling tomorrow.
Actually, this is pretty normal. My 1984 Trans Am had the "GM Protection Plan" from new, and it had a $50 deductible back then. Deductible is standard, and $100 isn't bad 25 years down the road from the old $50 deductible.

I believe that a $100 deductible is all they offer at this point on a GMPP Extended for C5. That is what I have and the $200 I have spent in deductibles the past year was well worth the $16,000 worth of parts and labor they took care of.
It is kind of a toss up as to whether they should have mentioned it or whether you should have asked in advance. I have never had ANY GMPP Extended Warranty without some deductible. They did "offer" a zero deductible last time around, but it was too expensive for me. $100 is nothing - they paid my $900+ Rental Car bill as well last time I was in the shop for a month while the replaced the engine.

Talk about being pissed about not being told about your warranty, back in the 80's I bought a new turbo chrysler lebaron for my DD when it came to a warranty they told me I could extend the warranty with an extended warranty, and that there were 2 available. The zero deductable was $1700 and the $50 deductable was $500. I decided to go with the $50 deductable. The first time I went to use it the Chrysler dealer I took it to (not the one I bought it from) wouldn't honor the warranty. They said I had to pay first and would be reimbursed by the warranty company. It turned out the warranty I had was from Quaker State (the oil company) not Chrysler. The zero deductable warranty I didn't buy was a Chrysler warranty. I eventually found a service station that was a few blocks from my house that honored the warranty. The dealer never told me that the $50 deductable warranty wasn't from Chrysler, had they told me I would never had bought that warranty.
Chances are he did mention it. I doubt he put much emphasis on it however. Most salesmen have a way of 'glossing' over those kind of facts. For instant, he most likely opened that portion of the sales pitch by saying ' This vehicle is eligible for the $100 deductible 3year/36K mile GM warranty.' You most likely heard the part you wanted to hear. I'm not saying it was said for sure, however, we do tend to not hear important details when we're exited about a purchase. Be honest, the car purchase was paramount in your mind, the details of the warranty were an aside during the purchase procedure.

When I bought my SRX I got a 0 deductable GMPP warranty that kicks in after the factory warrant expires. But the difference was that the car was new.
As for the $100 deductable .... you just crossed over a line of no return, ..... That will probably be the cheapest finacial sacrific you will make for this car.

Save the wave!
Welcome, They should have pointed that out! At least you have a dealer you trust to take your car to. I love my silver '03 C5 but my local GM dlr. admits they don't have a "corvette tech". That sux
