transmission leak?
anyone: i have been leaking what i thought was eng. oil for some time now. i just had my oil changed and told the tech. about the leak. after going under the car he said it was my transmission seal leaking. want to know any info on the trans. it is a manual 6sp. with 67,000 mi.i have been putting approx. 1qt in the crankcase every 3-4 weeks. this is why i thought it was eng. oil that was on my driveway. could i be leaking this much tranny fluid and still drive?, what type of fluid is in this type tran.? is this seal near the oil filter (thats where i saw oil dripping near/from) or are they not being truthful since they changed my oil the last time and right after that i noticed the leaking. i know that this type eng. does burn some oil but that much?? any info on the tranny would be appreciated. car is 2000 coupe 6sp.
