The GM Bra mounting hardware consist of two types of snap screws. The first type is a machine thread which screws into a rubber bushing.
The second type is simply a self tapping screw.
The installation instructions have you remove two of the screws holding the wheel well liner to the front fascia and remove the dzus fasteners that they thread into. You then insert the rubber bushing into the 5/16 hole.
My question is why does GM have you input a rubber bushing instead of just using a snap screw with a self tapping screw in the wheel well? Under the fascia they have you use the self tapping screws. I have seen some threads where folks go to a local marine store and pickup some #8 screw-snaps which screw right into the existing dzus fasteners which seems easier. Neither way is hard but seems GM must have a reason since the snap screw w/ rubber bushing is more expensive than just a snap screw w/ self tapping screw.
