Right here on the forum in the Parts section. I've been looking for an exhaust too and plenty of them for sale, although I've noticed its slowed lately.
When I bought mine, Jegs (a forum vendor) was the best deal when i considered base cost, shipping, and taxes. This probablly changes daily, but shop around and consider everything. I also urge you to try to use a forum vendor. I have had nothing but good experiences with all I have used. You will also love the pipes!
Might want to check parts for sale section. Touring sometimes turns out too quiet for some,,and they turn around and sell them. Being stainless they are usually still in good condition. Got mine from a fellow club member and he gave me a steal of a deal. Might want to look around local clubs as well!!
Got mine from Corvettes of Houston, years back. They were having a sale and I believe they also gave me a break on the shipping cost as well. Check the C5 part for sale... you can probably get it for a lot less than NIB cost.
On a personal note: Some say the Touring are too quiet, has a motorboat putt and almost like stock at idle. I am glad I went with the Touring model, after having the Borla's. I can hear my conversation & music and WOT, it sounds great - without the drone.
Shop arround, you may even want to check local installers for 'take-off' parts. These slightly used parts are as good as new and discounted in price, often folks buy something, dont like'em and either go back to stock or install a different mod. Exhaust systems in particular are often good buys, they have no moving parts. My entire exhasut is comprised of 'take-offs', it performs, looks and sounds terrific!
Sound is subjective,,and I agree listen to and or take a ride in a few different ones if you can!! Sometimes I would like a little louder,,but over all I am quite pleased with my touring!!when you have it on the floor and the revs are getting up there the still sing quite well!! Where I REALLY appreciate the Touring,is just what the name implies,,on the road,an M6 is around 1,400 at 65. This RPM is the sweet spot for drone (you can even hear some with stockers),,and with touring you almost have to listen to hear a muted little humm from the back!! a few (and I do mean a few) more or less RPM and it is quiet!! I appreciate this when we are putting highway miles on trips!! An X pipe will almost eliminate the "motor boat idle complaint" as well as almost eliminate the crackle pop on deceleration (I kind of like it,,it's not obnoxious). A friend is going to sell me an extra X pipe he has for cheap (he got another one when he went to headers) and I'm almost wondering if I want to loose the crackle!! I guess the smoother idle sound will be worth it!! I think you will like the touring!! As I said they wail when I'm on the strip and shifting at 6,000 ,,,and wisper on the highway!!! What's not to love!!!
I have Corsa Touring exhaust on my car and love the sound. Some say that are too quiet but I have added Long Tube Headers with no cats and the sound is very pleasing to me. Very crisp and throaty and choppy at idle (cam). You can drive it normal and still very much hear your exhaust note without drownding out the conversation you may be trying to have and at WOT they scream of meaness!!! If you go to youtube and search for "LS1 Headers just installed" you will see and hear a short clip of the sound.
My car has headers on it already so I'm sure the sound is going to be much different from an otherwise stock exhaust with just the Corsa catback.Anybody close to me have headers and this setup? I honestly am looking for quiet with a better than stock sound and performance. Especially with the headers already being on the car from the previous owner.
I received an excellent price from Corvettes of Dallas on my Pace Cars. Suggest you listen to the Touring, then the Pace Cars, I think you'll really like the Pace Cars over the Touring--but, who knows?
Thanks for the "shout out" about Corsa. In fact -- we are having a sale right now -- call CJ --- Parts Manager -- and he will be happy to take care of your exhaust needs -- Plus ask him about a Callaway Honker to go with your exhaust.
