Default HID fog problem

Anyone have a suggestion what would cause one fog light to burn and the other not ? I have checked the wiring, swapped the hid bulbs and replaced the ballast. The driver side lit up once and will not come on now. The passenger side works as advertised. I have troubleshot everything possible and I'm stumped.

Doug, Are the wires reversed on the drivers side? I had to reverse the wires on mine to make the drivers side operate.

I don't think they are back wards. When i first installed they both worked fine for a couple of days. Then the drivers side wouldn't come back on. I got the drivers side to fire off one time after the ballast change.

I'm guessing you already checked the fuses?

I have Hellas BTW.

Are you running a relay harness or just plugged into the factory wiring?

Could be just a cheap set of HIDs.

If you're not running a relay harness, you need to. There are several aftermarket HID kits out there that get cranky if they don't get a huge startup surge.

Any recomendations for a relay harness? And maybe how to install one?

if you order a pre-built one, it usually costs around $20. Or you can build your own for about $10.

installation is easy just mount the positive lead, ground lead then plug the connectors into the correct sockets. The hardest part is deciding on a place to mount the relay itself.
