Has anyone used this stuff? It's said to lower temps. I checked the label and it calls for you to drain the radiator and use this stuff with only water. Just looking for opinons
What is car now?
How old is Dex mix?
Are you stock?
What temps are you worried about?
The stock Dex-cool mix is due to be changed out/replaced at 5yr.
Everything else being stock and an A4-then Id just take enough mix out of the expansion tank to add 2 bottles of Waterwetter. It will help it run cooler at the top end. If your seeing higher temps in traffic and they come down when you get moving-your OK.
Also check out the under side of radior-these bottom breathers suck up leaves and plastic bags
Are the fans cycling on/off OK?

First, thanks for all replies...
Car is 02 vert and basically stock; just varram and hypertech handheld tune. fans are reprogrammed to cycle on sooner. Dex mix will be 2 years in spring. I'm concerned about 225 plus temps, as car is a DD and sometimes sits in traffic. Last summer, I saw 250 on occassion, did go down after extended 60 plus driving. Will be checking rad this weekend w/oil change. Even this winter, with outside temp in the teens, temp reached 200 plus.
200 is not hot!
If your running 225s in traffic and its coming down on its own when you get moving. Your OK. Still look under and vaccum up under where the radiator amd condensor come together.

I run 200 plus most of the time. The car was designed to run at those temps. I think your normal!
Ive used it before and sold it many times, I last used it an a blown mustang, old school one where we used to think that 200 was overheating. It did lower temps on that car, I also did a comparison against wateretter and found it to work slightly better.
