I bought the Eibach bars but haven't installed them yet. Another good choice, the C6 Z51 bars. They're a lot cheaper. Here's a link to another thread about these sway bars. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-g...sway-bars.html
I installed Bilstien sports with Z06 sways and the difference was astounding. Not sure if the upgrade to the more expensive aftermarket sways is worth the cost...

Sort of. For a street car the Bilsteins and Z06 bars are a great set up. For a track car the adjustability of the after market bars Hotchkiss, Pfadt, etc is almost a must.

thats what i have, proven combination! i got a used sway set with the metal end links for $200 shipped
I just put on 09 Z06 shocks, c6 z51 sways and new metal endlink all around I purchase from Gene Culley and I could not be happier. I also added pfadt urethane sway bar bushings at the same time. For under $600 you just can't beat it. I believe my car (00 FRC) now stays flatter than my old 02 Z06 did. good luck on your decision.
Another question, if I go with the c6 z51 bars does anyone know what the dimensions of them are mm wise? Also, where could I get metal end links for the bars?

I dont remember the MM on the C6 z51 sways, but they are larger then the 04 ZO6 sways....from what im told.. I got my C6 z51 off an 08 for $150 shipped with the end links Im waitting on my new BS Sports, my F-45s are shot!
The dimensions of the C6Z51 bars are Front- 31.0mm, Rear- 25.4mm. C6Z06 are Front- 31.0mm, Rear-28.0mm. Some forum members have stated that they think the C6Z06 rear bar would be too large and would induce oversteer in tight cornering situations. My own 99 FRC has the C6Z51 bars front and rear along with the metal end links and it corners as if its on rails and it gets PLENTY of cornering chasing fellow Corvette club members down the mountains we have out here in AZ. The metal end links can be found at a number of sources including your friendly Chevrolet Stealership or try West Coast Corvettes, Item #13112235. 1-888-737-8388. Great people to deal with too.

If you follow the link I put in post #2 you'll find the size of both the hotchkis bars and the C6 Z51 bars. Also if you follow the link you'll find a link to the package deal Gene at GMpartshouse.com has on these bars. ($192.05) plus shipping for the front, rear bars and bushings. You can get the metal endlinks there also.
Best combo of form/function/value for C5 suspension is
2004 Z06 shocks...tuned by GM Engineers on the Nurburgring in Germany
C6Z51 Sway bars.
Even Aaron at Pfadt will agree!
Going with C6Z06 sways have been known to create oversteer on a C5.
Don't over look your tires. They complement the pkg. Anything is better than GY EMT!!!
The 04 Z06 Shocks are basically the same as any C5-C6 factory shock. We've tested all of them. I'm sure a lot of you have noticed the way the cars get nervous when going over bumps, the best example is when you're turning on a ruff surface. The car skates around, we call this rough corner nervousness. The High speed dampening in the factory shocks in too high, high speed meaning quick up and down wheel movement. Our Inverted Sport Shocks have less pressure in that range and provide greater control. With the ability to adjust them you can set your car up soft providing vastly improved road manners and in minutes turn them up for the track or canyon without any tools.
So far as stock sway bars go the C6 Z51 bars have the best balance, however they are still soft and aren't adjustable. Having adjustable sway bars is very important as every driver has a different style. Sway bars are one of the most important suspension tuning tools. Having stiffer bars that are balanced will allow you to turn in better as well as transition from corner to corner quicker. Being able to control understeer and oversteer is very important. They won't effect the way your car feels driving down the road, that is what the shocks control.
Please feel free to call or email us if you have any questions regarding suspension set up or finding a package that will work the best for your specific needs.
I went with Bilstein sport shocks and C5 Z06 sway bars and springs. HUGE difference from the base setup. If I had it to do over again. I would go with the Hotchkis sway bars.
