Hey guys,I'm working on getting the order together for my brake upgrade and I wanted to know what your thoughts on braided lines were. Would love to hear all opinions. From my understanding, they get rid of the spongey feeling which is exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks everyone.
I put them on my car when I put on Z06 calipers, drilled and slotted rotors and ceramic pads. I didn't notice any difference at all. But I did this swap when the car only had 5k miles on it so there wasn't any sponginess to the pedal. If I had it to do over again I probably wouldn't put them on.

My black car has the OEM lines that are eleven years old and about 67K miles on them. I'm going to replace them with the Goodrich lines, not so much because of the sponginess of the pedal, but more because they are old and with the Phoenix heat, it's just a good idea.
You also might consider upgrading to a DOT4 fluid and a power flush of the system to get all the sediment out of the system at the same time.
Anyone here experience any problems with them? Leaks or things of that nature?
No problems if you install them correctly. If you don't do them right, the SS braided covering can chafe the inner hose - not good.
They are pretty easy to install. Can't say I felt any major difference but my car only had 38K on the clock when I replaced the pads and added the SS lines at the same time. Stock lines were still in good shape.

Your brake pedal is probably spongy because your brake lines are old and the rubber is starting to give.
I like the VBP brake lines myself. They give a nice firn brake pedal feel.
I installed SS lines when I did my caliper swap at 65k. I noticed absolutely zero improvement during normal driving. I noticed some moderate improvement during high speed/heavy braking where I could better modulate the pedal when it was closer to the floor. IMHO, I'd just put your money elsewhere for a DD car. There was some "sponginess" before, and it was there after too.
