What is the difference? Is the Hardtop removable?

The targa coupe has a removable targa roof and a hatchback. The hardtop (fixed-roof coupe) has a fixed roof and a trunk.

Coupe - also referred to as a targa has a removable targa top and a hatchback.

Coupe pic: (gratuitous pic of my own... )

Hardtop - referred to as a fixed roof coupe (FRC) does not have a removable top (unless modified) and has a trunk instead of a hatchback. The Z06 is a hardtop (FRC).

Hardtop roof is fixed or non removeable, the coupe has a targa top, the top comes off in one piece .

Haha thanks everyone. I'm getting a Z06 but was hoping i could find a hardtop convertible. custom jobs like that are too pricey for me so I'll deal with it. Thanks again.

You can buy a convertible and add a removable hardtop.

One thing I'd like to add for those who may come across this thread in a search. I've had 2 frc's and now 1 coupe. I never understood what people meant by having 'squeaks, pops and rattles' UNTIL I got the coupe The FRC/Z06 has a DEFINITE advantage in that department. No squeaks, pops or rattles from the FRC's

Did they make convertible Z06's? I've been checking a lot of sites and haven't come across one yet. that would make my day.

Hard top is also a little bit lighter than the coupe. But then again, with the coupe, you have the targa top, which is great for those nice and sunny days. Cheers, Indy.

If you do the slightest bit of research you would find out there is the z06/frc hardtop, coupe with removeable top and the vert.
