Coupe - also referred to as a targa has a removable targa top and a hatchback.
Coupe pic: (gratuitous pic of my own... )
Hardtop - referred to as a fixed roof coupe (FRC) does not have a removable top (unless modified) and has a trunk instead of a hatchback. The Z06 is a hardtop (FRC).

Haha thanks everyone. I'm getting a Z06 but was hoping i could find a hardtop convertible. custom jobs like that are too pricey for me so I'll deal with it. Thanks again.

One thing I'd like to add for those who may come across this thread in a search. I've had 2 frc's and now 1 coupe. I never understood what people meant by having 'squeaks, pops and rattles' UNTIL I got the coupe The FRC/Z06 has a DEFINITE advantage in that department. No squeaks, pops or rattles from the FRC's
Hard top is also a little bit lighter than the coupe. But then again, with the coupe, you have the targa top, which is great for those nice and sunny days. Cheers, Indy.
Cool pic!! My little guys are now 6'3" and 6'4",,the oldest just got married and the youngest is close to graduating from SIU-E!! Enjoy those boys while you can,,,the time flies!! P.S. I love my FRC,,,but I do have my big block T top shark to play with!!
