I read through the forum and see a lot of issues some folks are having with their cars. I'm just curios how many high to very high milage cars are out there with little or no problems.
So here's my question. Who has the most miles on their car? Really I want to see how many are out there before I tell how many are on mine.....
I vadered a picture a couple years ago of a C5 with 300k on it.
Wish I could remember who it was...
IIRC, it was a work car.
That was my '99. I gave it away to forum member Nightdrv who happens to be my son. At this time, its at 329K miles. The current issue apparently the clutch pedal stuck to the floor so he's trying to figure that one out and I have no clue since it never happened to me. Suggested to him the clutch fluid first, then past that, the master/slave cylinders are probably worn out.

I would have sworn this was a guy from the upper midwest...oh well, I've been wrong before.

There was another forum member who had over 320k on his 99 C5 a few years ago, he was a salesman from Michigan who went by the forum name duosy or something very similar to that. Maybe this is the guy you were thinking about?
I'm curious as to who has the most mileage on an automatic C5? I'm curious as to how long the 4L60E can last before needing to be rebuilt. I'm only at 103k on mine, and I am confident that the engine can last 300k but am not so confident the automatic trans would last that long.

Before i bought my first vette, it was a 71,i went to contes.com, I live 25 miles away.check out his site.Hes a straight shooter,he told me the c5 is the most relable of all the vette generations, for the most part with proper oil changes etc.and you dont beat them up,they will last a long, long time.................................... ..........I dont think there are alot of issues with the c5,its just on here folks tend to tell of things that are not right with the car.I think they are very reliable, and one hell of a highway car.got to tell the truth though, only 19,000 miles

Good to see the miles. My 99 automatic has over 200k on it. It had some electrical bugs that i have fixed. All in all it seems to be a solid car. I got the car fax on it and I'm the third owner. I do know the transmisson was rebuilt at about 160k. It goes to the alignment shop on Friday.

I have a 98 A4 with 150,000 miles. Yank SY3500 TC since 50k too. I've tracked the car both at the strip and road course. Florida car....hot-hot-hot year round. No slippage as of yet. Still hits pretty hard. Change the tranny fluid every year. Ran the B&M supercooler, until last year when I replaced the radiator with a Dewitts(integrated cooler). Standard operating temp is never higher than 185. Hard runs will kick it up to 210, but will cool down pretty quickly. Car not always a DD.

So far, so good.
I'm glad to hear that! My car is pretty much stock (just tuning and Vararam) and it's not that hot here in Toronto in the summer so my tranny temps generally stay well under 200F for the most part. So I guess I can be pretty confident that my trans has a lot more life left in it!
