I agree with everyone's suggestions. Just follow them ALL. HOWEVER, if the TPMS sensors are old, you would be better off just purchasing new ones and start over. That's what I did.
Are there any other issues other than the sensors?
Thanks Guys.
the front C6 rims are the same exact offset as the C5; but the C6 rears are a different offset than the C5 factory rims.
the C6 rear rims will sit inward when bolted up to the C5... around 7/16". About 50% that have done this rim swap have reported slight tire rubbing on the inner side of the fenderwell.
When I did this upgrade, I added those inexpensive 1/4" plate spacers the rears. Not as much for the rubbing concerns, but more for the cosmetics. And was still able to use standard lugnuts.
I am new to the board. I was wondering if there is a way to tune out the TPMS? My father has a 99 vette and I just want to turn them off as they are all failing and need to be replaced. Some people say yes, some people say no, I read somewhere that someone said a tech2 could turn it off. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
