[Z06] Ticking noise in engine

Ticking noise in engine
My friends Z was parked for months.Took it out and it was quite.Then today it developed a ticking noise in the top of the engine.Sounds like valve train.Maybe timing chain?If you load the motor by letting the clutch out,it goes away.I used a stethascope to listen.Loud under the intake and at the timing chain cover.There is no lack of performance.Any ideas? Thanx
