Default Quiet your ride ....CHEAP

I see lots of posts about quieting your ride (dyna mat, insulation etc etc). Heres an easy one that works well. In your 3 rear compartments put a HD trash bag in every one and fill each of them with good old packing peanuts. You'll be suprised how well it works and you cant get much cheaper than that.

Kinda makes those storage compartments useless doesn't it. If you do a search there are many posts about putting regular home insulation in those areas. It quiets it up and still allows you to use them somewhat.

it gets really quiet if you fill the entire vette interior with packing peanuts

I put B-quiet V-comp in my Vette (after a layer of dynamat), and it helped alot.

http://www.b-quiet.com/vcomp.html

With a Lloyd's cargo mat over the top...

Another hero is born......
this does a good job of keeping the storage compartments quiet...
unfortunately they do nothing to keep the cabin quiet. Nothing, Nada...
thanks for the chuckle

following the link, 2 sheets of V-comp are about $120.

The dynamat bulk pack off ebay ran about $100...I think.

Lloyd's cargo mat...guessing $85.

I did this 3-4 years ago, so I don't remember exactly.

Hello ET

Frost King is a sound-proof LITE and there is a zillion posts here using "search" at the top of the page...Only problem is finding those folks if you have a question (gone to C6/ZR1/Viper/etc.) Have to come back here for further info on FK/peanuts/etc....

For inexpensive insulation - search MikeMurcury - his post (5 years or so ago) allows you to use materials from Home Depot/Lowes that mimics Dynamat for a fraction of the costs :yesnod"

Because my console always got so hot I just covered it - front to back with Frost King insulation. I made sure that all the seams were covered with foil tape. The car is not only quieter but the console is not as hot. El cheapo Mod as a roll of Frost King was only $19 at Lowes.
