2002-2004 for sure, The newer with less miles you can find, As far as Z06 or Coupe it is up to you, I have a Coupe and love it, I travel a lot and the extra room is a plus.

Not to mention the roof comes off on the coupe

Just search around and try to get your best bang for the buck. It's a buyer's market so take advantage of it.

In todays money market you do not need a vet you need a body guard. Which ever way you go enjoy the vett.

Sorry, but you left off the obvious choice, a vert.
These days, with that budget, you should be able to find something very nice.
Figure out what you want, take some time, enjoy.

Why do you ask the same question twice on the same forum?

Cargo room because the Z06 has no hatch -- interior should be about identical.

You really need to get out and drive the different versions and decide for yourself. You need to ask:
  • Six speed vs. Automatic?
  • Vert vs. Z06 vs. Targa
  • Performance mods vs. strictly stock?

Pricewise, the Z06 and verts are more money (maybe $3K or so) than a targa coupe the same year and mileage. So, if you are looking for a DD, with $24K you might be able to get an '04 coupe with aftermarket wheels, maybe an intake and exhaust, and reasonably low mileage. A Z06 is a "hard core" DD and you might have to step back a year or 2 and add some miles with your budget. Same with the vert but few folks use them as DD's. Automatics seem to run $1K or so cheaper than the 6-speeds also.

Have fun!

I would get out and drive an example of each.....coupe, vert, and frc/Z...and then go from there. Decide what this vette will do for you: racer, cruiser, show car, driver....etc and that can help you make some decisions. Then decide on colors and options. I don't agree that you need to go 02-04......early C5's are just as nice and at great prices. You could spend in the mid teens and get a nice 98-99 coupe and still have 8-10k to mod it. That's probably how I would go...get an earlier model at a cheaper price...then have some $$$ to mod it the way you want it!!

You could also find a vette w/some mods done to it already.
