About a month ago, I purchased an 04 Z06 from a dealer in Kaiser, MO. To date he has not sent me the title. First it was lost in the mail and he would send for a replacement title. Now I can't get him to answer my calls. If there anyone that lives in that area who could check out their address and let me know if they are still in business ? The name of the dealer is Lakeway Motors but not the one located in Lake Ozark (I don't think).

It's time to get in touch with the MVA, don't let this drag out, this doesn't sound right. If you get no answers or replys, you need to take some action or you could end up with some large headaches down the road, like a lien on the title from previous owners, etc.
Good luck.

Reason: spelling
Was this dealer selling the car on asignment? If so, he may be waiting to get the title from the original owner who had a lean on the car & is waiting on the bank ( those wonderful institutes that are broke) to get him the title. A month is about right if the bank has a central division where they keep all paperwork. A HUGE PIA but there is nothing you can do. I would ask the dealer for another temp plate since they cost the dealer $$. Good luck. I don't think the BMV can help with out the original title.
I found this car on e bay but was not able to firm up the deal until after the end of the auction. He purchased it thru an auction in CA. He clamed to have a clear title at the time of purchase and the salesperson I dealt with said it was mailed to me. When I did not receive it, I spoke to the boss who said that his salesman was fired and he would apply to the CA auction for a replacement title. As I said, he now won't answer my calls.
Hmmmm, sounds kinda fishy to me but, I bought my vert from a dealer in MO and it took over a month to get the title. Seems it was actually registered in AR and AR DMV is about the slowest thing on earth. It was quite a nightmare there for awhile but it did finally show up. Sounds like you might have a different deal going if they're saying they sent it to you already and it got lost. I don't think I'd wait too long to verify this deal. Lots of crooks out there anymore.
Out of state transfers do take a month or more to clear up. Specially if there is smog laws. The 'smog' check has to be performed in the state that it is going to. There are companies that actually do "state to state" transfers.
If you already have the car, you can always file for a duplicate title at your dmv office.
my coupe came from FL (to CA)
my truck.. TX
my 944.. NM
my G35.. TX
Hell it takes 6-8 weeks to get an instate one here in KY, I always do speed titles for people that buy my cars...2 weeks tops
The dealer sounds a little less than honest but for your sake I hope not. In the event he did buy it from a CA auction it could take a while since it has to be transfered from the CA auction(just possesion of it,not actually on the title), to the MO dealer, then to you.
If you bought it on EBAY, did it qualify for the Vehicle Purchase Protection? That might be one immediate recourse.
If the seller is licensed by the state to buy/sell vehicles, then get that state DMV/MVD involved. That will get the dealership motivated.
I bought a truck a few years ago which originally came from CA. The very large dealership never bothered to obtain title from CA before they sold it to me. That's a serious violation in AZ...serious enough that the threat of an audit by MVD/DMV and state auto theft investigators and closing of their business for a few days, got the owner to obtain a bonded title immediately.
A friend not long ago went through this same situation with EBAY. He had possession of the (out of state) car, and a bill of sale, but no title. He needed the title to meet his state requirements.
The seller would not return calls or messages. The buyer finally had to get EBAY (lawyers) involved to resolve it.
