Default How to work on the vette?

Ok, so heres my problem. I have worked on cars my entire life, since before I can even remember, its one of my favorite things to do. But I recently moved and no longer have access to a garage to work in. I need to change the oil in the vette but as you all know its almost impossible to crawl under the car. There is no way I trust any garage around me to even get in it, let alone work on it. The first time I changed the oil, my buddy is enlisted in the army, and I was able to work in the forts auto hobby shop but they did me a favor and they said they could get in a lot of trouble for letting me work on my car there. Would anyone know of any public auto hobby shops in the DC area or even a garage that rents a bay?

Could anyone recommend a set of car ramps to use for such a low riding car? Or any recommendations on even jacking the car up because I know that there are a lot of ways to mess up the underbelly of the car. Thanks.

i bought a set of race ramps at autozone and they work pretty good for getting under the front to change the oil.

Many make their own out of wood, but they might not be easily transported...

I use walmart ramps that I slide under the tires once I jack the car up. I also bought some cheap jacking pucks that is just an I bolt through a hockey puck to lift the car.

Hi There:
Make yourself a set of hockey pucks & buy a low profile jack& the stands. The other option is to buy a set of race ramps from brute industries. A little pricey but safe and super strong & no chance for accidents(using a spotter) and they are light weight & you can hang them up.I have both set ups. When I' am working alone in the garage I use the h/pucks & jacks. If I have a helper I use the r/ramps.BTW: no touching scraping of the body using the r/ramps.

Use a 2x4 to get up onto some autozone or walmart ramps. It works every time for me, and my car has the front bolts removed.
