New tire smoke
I just bought new rear tires for my first C5.
The tire store guys said it was a rule when you bought the
Goodyear run flats you had to smoke them real good for
them to ever be right. Once smoked they would always get
better milage and grip better. My vette is a 6 speed and it was not a problem to light them up and it was a lot of fun.
Have any of you ever heard of this rule? It could be a local thing.

Don't forget to change the bumper fluid for extra grip.

Did he also tell you that every spring you should let all the air out and put in fresh spring air for a better ride.
You had fun anyway.

How else is he supposed to keep selling more tires. Repeat customers are always easier than new ones. Did he offer you any stickers/decals for more horsepower too?

okay stupid for a vette yes. There is one time where this can be true and not about the longer life or anything like that just grip. Thats with crotch rocket tires. When they are new either you break them in for 100 miles or go do a burn out. They are very slick when they are new. with the vette, yeah how deep are your pockets?
