I am looking to put different rims on a 2000 C5 that I own and I had a couple questions. First of all the rims are off of a 2007 C6 and all four are 18"s which I thought was weird since I thought 18" fronts and 19" rears came stock on the C6s. Turns out the rims are acctually two sets of front C6 rims so what I was wondering is will these rims work on my C5? Will the car handle any different having rims and tires of the same size on all the way around? Also will the TPMS's from the C6 work on the C5 or do I have to use the ones from my original wheels? If so how do you replace those? Thanks for the info
The rims will work on your car. I think the same size rims front and rear on a vette looks a little funny, but thats me. Makes tire rotations less of a headache also. Not sure about the monitors. Maybe someone whos done this will slide in....
you will have to have your 2000 tpms sensors... I have 2006 wheels on mine with 97 sensors.... the trick here is you have to use the groments from the 07 wheels when you install them.. enjoy..JOHN
There is a possibility the tires may rub on the rear
The offset for the C6 wheels are different than C5 wheels. I have C6 wheels on my C5 but they were not factory they were made with C5 offsets.
Standard offset for the C6 is
Front: 56 mm
Rear: 79 mm
Standard offset for the C5 is
Front: 56mm offset
Rear: 65mm offset
If you are going to run with the same size wheels on the front and rear make sure you get tires that are at least 1/2" smaller on the front so you don't have any traction control problems
If you do decide to use these wheels, you will have to use your sensors as the C6 sensors won't work on your car.
