Default Flush tail light ?

Ok now I searched and didn't find any good hits so I'm asking you guys. When I bought my car it had the flush mount lights and I like the looks but am leaning more towards the stock look. I was wondering where I could get what I needed to go back stock, just shorter mounting screws or what?

If yours is the same as the flush mount I have you should be able to just remove the spacers and reuse the same screws. Granted they would be on the long side, but if memory serves me right they screw threw a tab with no backing to get in the way (98 C5).

Yep! there s spacers and longer screws in there. Get shorter screws and take out the spacers and you re set!

Exactly right! Just remove the screws (2 per taillight) and you can pull the lenses right out. You'll see that there's some sort of spacer on every screw to create the "flush" look. Just take the spacers out, screw the lenses back down, and you're golden.

Longer screws will not affect anything; as there is only open space behind where they screw into.

If you replacd the screws make sure you get stainless steel or they will rust. Should be easy job, i just made my spacers and got longer screws.

I read the flush mount, taillight seal, and screw cap diy and had to do it. I have black louvers (black car) that sit flush with the body. I love the look!!

I like my flush mounts too. I don't know why they made them recessed anyhow!! Looks more natural to me. If GM had flush mounted them every body would be looking for a way to recess them I guess!!

I think the car color has a little to do with it! Mine is pewter which is kind of a subtle color and the flush red lenses kind of set it off nicely. Some colors they just kind of blend in or don't stand out!

Mine is Torch Red and I like the flush mount look better. Red on red. Along with LEDs, sequentials, and 3rd brake flasher.
