Default Alignment To DD Per VBP Specs

I am getting my car aligned this weekend and was thinking of setting the car up per VBP's daily driver settings. I am not an autocrosser and mostly a cruiser. I drive the car every day to work, 31 miles each way so I think this is the probably the best for the tire wear.

Here is a link to their specs.

Has anyone done this and can you offer any input?

Thanks
Eddie

You probably know that the ZO6 has a different alignment spec from the base car. Problem is that some of the ZO6's when not exactly aligned, eat tires quickly. Mine was such a car. I had the alignment done by a qualified Corvette guy, and wanted the base set up. He pointed out that my tire problem was due to gross out of spec alignment, and talked me into the ZO6 set up, which is mildly aggressive. I did it, and haven't regretted it a bit.

So I recommend the ZO6 factory setup, though the base car setup is an alternative. But either way, I would use the GM spec.

I wound up getting it set to standard corvette settings. The guy printed off as found settings for me and as left settings.

As found front
camber -0.8 -0.3
caster 6.6 6.3
toe -.14 .30

As left front
camber -0.8 -0.2
caster 7.5 7.1
toe .04 .02

As found rear
camber -0.7 -0.6
toe .22 .01
Total Toe .23
Thrust angle .10

As left rear
camber -0.6 -0.5
toe 0.00 0.00
total toe 0.00
Thrust angle 0.00

Tires seem to be quieter anyway.

I assume this is on your Z06, not the '70? What's up with the variance in camber between LF and RF?

Yeah this is on my Z. I asked about the camber. He said he could not get it.

If a shop cannot get the camber set like you want, you should try another shop.
I have found for best tire wear on the street, the camber needs to be zero to a max. of -1/8 degree. Anything more than that, and you will get significant inside tire wear. Toe-in needs to be zero to 1/32".
Caster does not affect tire wear, but affects stability.
