I have done a couple of searches but with different results. My question is there a way to turn off the lights, the local dealer said no, but there should be a way. Any help ?
None that I know of short of cutting wires or just diconnecting the bulbs. There may be a fuse specific to them that you could pull out. Or you can turn on your parking lamps. They go out that way too.

I tried that to but I have a black car with a blackout kit and it kinda defeats the purpose tried the fuse thing no luck. Awaiting advice from a corvette guru. Some people its no big deal, safety may be an issue I just want to be able to turn them OFF.
there is always a way---I would google it- found a way to shut these down on my wife's Tahoe, it involved performing a series of repetitive motions no one would ever typically do. IE turn the key to off, stick your left hand out the window, while pointed northwest at a 23 degree angle on an odd day of an even numbered month-while it is partly cloudy.
Seriously, there is a way, but you have to do it each time you start the car, or they'll come back on again
I think it's one of the coolest looking parts of the C5 while cruising down the road. Really helps with the intimidating look.
On my S10 i bent one of the relays tabs because my daytime running lights were part of the same bulb as my high beams. I assume the Vette is like the T/A and uses that bulb also for the parking light/turn signals. I really can't help unless i saw a wiring diagram but it may be as simple as removing a fuse...
Again i don't see the point in getting rid of DRL they approve the appearance and technically you need to have them or let your insurance know they aren't on the car anymore. It's a safety feature.

I agree! They look neat sitting down low! You always know a C 5 coming. I don`t like the looks of the height of the ones on the C 6`s.

I got this from another member, so it's twice passed on.
I didn't do it this way, I pulled a fuse, I have to look where it is, but it also disabled the reverse lights when you unlock the car. Other than that no issue.
This way is more work, but the car functions more "normally"...
Here's how to do it. Info from another forum member.
No codes for me. Was the second thing I did three years and 17K ago.
My first question is exactly how did you go about defeating the DRL's ?
Here's how I did it.....got this from the forum:
Here is how to disable them permanently and it is reversable and does not affect the operation of any other lights. Cut and paste follows.
1. In the passenger footwell, lower the front carpet.
2. Remove the foot panel.
3. Locate the IPEC (Instument Panel Electrical Center) It looks like the fuse box next to the battery.
4. Remove the cover of the IPEC.
5. Turn it over and find the diagram of the components.
6. Locate relays 38 and 40. (38 controls the right DRL and 40 the left)
7. Pull each relay and carefully remove the cover.
8. Insert some type of insulator between the relay contacts (matchbook cover cardboard or the plastic from a coffee can lid works well) that you have cut to fit.
9. Replace relay cover, replace relay, replace IPEC cover, replace the footwell.
10. DONE!!
