Default leaking diff vs being lowered

been noticing that a lot of lowered cars have leaking diffs.. coincidence? lowering it can cause the axles to site skewed, and can cause the leak to form

i know the leaking butt is a common problem on our cars, but lowering the car exagerates it more

A lot of non-lowered cars have the same problem. Not so sure lowering makes it happen any more than with non-lowered cars.

It happened to my car long before I lowered it. It was only a few months old at the time.

NO WAY. When you Lower a Vette you are lowering the body on the chassis. Has absolutely ZERO effect on the diff.

Um. no,

And as for skewing the axle alignment, if that theory was true, then the diff would also leak everytime you hit a bump or incline change.

But, reality is, the axle stubs always slide into the diff perfectly straight...the CV joints at each end of the axles handle the slight axle angle difference that lowering changes, and are the pieces that allow the suspension to move up and down while still transmitting power through the axles.

They are exactly the same on lowered and raised Vettes.

To you lowered guys, did you have to get realigned afterwards? It seems as though it would screw with things. Anyone?
