My guess is because they wanted to save the extra weight that comes along with the lumbar stuff.

Those are some weak answers guys, "because of weight savings". If you own a C5Z you know how terrible the bolster support is during any kind track time ,let alone some spirited driving. The C6Z they did a much better job, but even if the car weighed 20 lbs more they should have done a better job with their "track ready" car.
