Default Winter is EXPENSIVE!

Can't drive her in this crap with all the salt so I have to settle for "garage quality time." Waiting for spring, I have been ordering parts/mods to get her ready for the 2009 National Caravan to Bowling Green. I have a 1998 Medium Purple Pearl Metallic vert. The interior is all black so I ordered a grey and black interior package (leather seat covers, shift boot, ebrake boot, grab bar, door handles, steeering wheel cover, visor covers in grey/black trim just to add color to the interior. That was a HARD sell to my wife since my seat covers were near perfect condition. Put on new chrome thin spoke wheels, and Lloyds C5 Racing floor mats. Ordered flush tail light kit, ordering stripe for car in silver and black, now searching for the perfect exhaust system. Anyone else spend when you can't drive em? I am almost broke, so spring better arrive soon.

I hear ya! I'm doing a double din mod with Kenwood H/U, amp and speakers.

Make sure you post pics when you get yours done. I like that color, and I'm sure the mods you are doing will make it even better.

I'm planning the same mod. What Kenwood unit are you going with?

Spending $$ here too, car is in getting some touch ups done. It will take a week to install all the new goodies once I get her back.

I suffer from this condition too.

Replaced my black Z06 interior with a black/oak combo, new seats, Vette Essentials steering wheel and door pulls, Carskinz shift **** and ebrake handle... on and on.... Lloyds mats...

Vararam went on;

Car got lowered;

refinished my rims (all curb scuffs GONE)

Full bumper-to-bumper polishing / swirl removal;

Cleaned and shined under-carriage;

Had my brake duct scoops CF-plated

New rotors and pads coming (drilled/slotted with Hawk HPS)

NEXT WINTER is the sound system upgrade!

So far just brake calipers and pads, but I may be leaving the vette at ECS this spring for some go fast goodies!

I know, its bad. I tried to keep it reasonable.

Z06 springs, sway bars
C6 Z06 shocks
metal end links
MGW shifter
painted calipers
steering wheel insert
speaker grilles
hood seal

Could someone please talk me out of getting a set of headers?

I'm afraid of what will happen next year...

Tell me about it! My front bumper had a scratch from being backed into, so I was going to do a TigerShark bumper over winter, and so far:

Both TigerShark bumpers
Corsa TigerShark Exhaust
Bassani X-Pipe
L5 Rear Fenders
New Wheels & Tires
C6 Z51 Brakes
Powdercoated Calipers/Brackets
New Interior Kit
Stereo Upgrade
300kph Speedo
Vertical Door Kit
Blackwing

Winter mods have grown so much, looks like I won't even have it completed by spring I spend everyday on the forum, and see all the cool mods you guys have done, and think "I GOTTA HAVE THAT!"

Oh well, it'll be worth it in the end, right?

Erik

I like the silver & black accents on the purple vette. That will look REAL sharp - please post PICS when done!

To start I purchased a Battery tender, Kooks headers, X-pipe 3" HP Cats and Zo6 mufflers. Then I ordered Zo6 shocks, short throw shifter, new plug 8mm wires and a new targa top.

I'm not spending any more until I drive it 1000 miles. Then I plan on upgrading the stereo & speakers......

Can't wait til spring............

I agree Mr. Fast Fun, but it is FUN!

And if you would like a Z06 Ti exhaust for your "perfect exhaust" project, I will sell you mine for $400, so I can buy more stuff (that i really, really need). Plus I am local!

Damn salted roads!
