I would pass unless you plan on head/cam work. You'll see some gains with the 90/90 combo, but it's mostly a supporting modification to more in-depth engine mods.
I believe your stock tb is 78mm. A ported or aftermarket throttle body will net you miniscule amount of power, but give you significantly improved throttle response. However it will also make the throttle more sensitive.
I agree that a 90/90 combo is an overkill and on a stockish/bolt-on type motor you would not see much gain--you would however benefit if you do hds/cam with the 90/90--but for the money I still think it's not worth it-- My opinion would be for you to go with a LS6 manifold as your '97 still has the LS1 intake--For the price you can't beat this upgrade--The LS6 is an excellent intake--Take a look at this intake comparison--realize that it is on a hds/cam motor but the results are relative---also the larger manifolds you'll see that they make all their HP up beyond 6400---so with a stock cam you are not getting the full benefit as a stock cam quits making power around 5800-6000 RPM's
