Could an Alignment Cause Code C1214
The Good:
This past weekend I had my car aligned. The car drives a straight line and seems to be doing very well with the alignment.
The Bad:
I noticed the cars steering wheel is tilted off center just a bit to the left.
I had to make another meeting Saturday morning after the alignment and was not able to get back to the shop before they closed. The alignment guy said if there were any problems to call him. I talked with the alignment guy this afternoon and he said he will correct the steering wheel issue for me.
My question revolves around an incident that occured this morning when I started my car. It threw the code C1214, Service ABS, TC and AH. I tried to clear the code on the way in to work and it came right back. This afternoon on the way home, I tried to clear it again and it cleared and did not come back.
Could the steering wheel being off center cause this code to thrown?
There is a steering wheel position sensor in the column and I would expect it to set a code if the steering wheel is off center significantly. But be sure to tell the alignment guy it threw a code so he can be on the lookout for other possibilities like a wheel speed sensor.
