I have an '03 Millenium Yellow vette, and the interior is 2-toned with the ebony and the tan color, the seats are tan, the carpets are tan..and i was wondering what is the best place or way to go about re-doing the interior for as cheap as possible to ebony with some yellow highlights (stitching, etc....)
Thanks!!
any inputs or thoughts on what i'm thinkin about doing would be appreciated!
I just did an interior swap of my Shale interior to black. I found a forum member to swap out black pieces with. I had to purchase the black carpet and seat skins. But all in all it wasn't all that expensive to do the swap.
Vette Essentials is what I have on my c5 and depending on what you can do yourself on the installation you can save money there. As far as cost they are not the cheapest but by far the best quality leather on the market. Matt at Vette Essentials has been doing interiors for a while and can custom make any combination you like.

Good luck.
Did you do the carpets yourself? how tough is that to do on the whole car??? also what am i lookin at for a cost ? also, where did you get the carpet from
Vette Essentials is tops on my list but they are very expensive
If you are going to keep the car for some time go the VE route.
If you are only going to keep the car for only a few more years save about half your money and go with another company like Leatherseats.com or auction site seat makers

Piece of cake...
Not difficult, but time consuming.
I did my wife's '01 last winter. Carpet change from gray to black, painting the center console & dash, seat cover change from gray to white.

How hard was it to paint the door and glove box panel? What were the steps taken? They look awesome
I switched out my whole interior myself also. I also switched the seat skins and done all the painting. It really isnt that difficult, just takes some patience.
Seat skins are from vette essentials also. Good luck
Two tone VetEssential seats cost me $2000 about 5 to 6 years ago. Then you either install them yourself or pay someone to do it. You might have to replace some of the foam under the leather. They are also very nice to deal with;Go for it!

Painting was easy...handed them to my painter and picked them up a couple of days later.
However, removing said items was a bit more difficult. I actually separated the lower panels from the rest of the door panel. They are "sonic welded" together, which consists of plastic tabs melted down like a rivet. I used a sharp chisel and cut the tops of the tabs off.
I wanted to get them covered with the same material as the seats, and tried several different upholstery places and they couldn't make it look right. My painter told me that he paints dash and door panels all the time. He just adds a flattening agent to the paint to make it less glossy.
I just used some strong adhesive to re-attach the lower panels and they turned out great.
