Default Questions about buying a C5

I just started looking at C5's. What things should I be aware of or specifically look for? I want to find a M6 with the targa top under 15k. I hope there's nothing as notorious as the optispark or headlights on my old Trans Am.

Stay away from Vettes with an accident history. Even if they are properly fixed, the Corvettes don't take accidents well...at least that's what I heard. Must be the composite body, which doesn't spread out the force well. Otherwise, try to get a lower mileage one...there are some pretty good deals out there. The seats are usually the first thing which need to be replaced, since the leather isn't very sturdy, but that is a pretty easy fix and there are many aftermarket seats out there which offer far better lateral support. Have fun shopping...Indy

On an M6 find out what column lock recalls have been done if any. Find out if it has a CLB(Column Lock Bypass) This is THE most desirable addition. The main PIA for manuals,,but the CLB takes care of it!!
