results from baseline pulls: only mods are the vararam cai and vr powerduct

dyno type - dyno dynamics (reads lower than mustang dyno)

rwhp 352.4
rwtq 350.3

todays results! same dyno/shop and tuner as baseline runs. before someone starts bashing my numbers consider this is after 5 hours on the dyno and tons of pulls. I want to say thanks to EGash for his work on my tune. He spent 5 hours to get my tune perfect! Plus i want to say thanks to FRCBOBBY/kyspeed for the great price and service! And thanks to ARH for making these kicka$$ headers!

MODS: vararam cai, vararam powerduct, msd wires, ngk tr55 spark plugs, arh 1 7/8" long tube race headers (no air tubes), 3"x3" off-road x-pipe and 5 hours of dyno tuning

rwhp: 397.1
rwtq: is measured in NM not tq so i will post the those numbers in rwtq when i get them from my tuner. BUT it picked up rwtq from 2000 rpm to redline. Even without the tune the headers made more power/tq than stock.

AIR/FUEL RATIO: 13.1

I picked up 44.7 rwhp with my headers and dyno tune. The first pull that was made with the headers was on the stock tune. it went from 352.4 to 373.6rwhp. So the headers were worth around 21rwhp alone on a stock ls6 with a vararam cai/powerduct. tuner picked up the final 23 rwhp with the tune.

sotp: with the headers and the dyno tune the car feels great! It pulls good down low up to about 4500rpm and then it just takes off!! I think it is part headers, tune and the vararam at high speeds. The car feels, idles and sounds almost stock at normal speeds/parking lots/traffic. This brings me to the sound . IT sounds perfect. The tone is a little deeper at idle and cruise. As the rpms build the sound goes from a smooth sound to a scream at wot. It really does not sound like any other pushrod v8 i have ever heard. No drone and quite at cruise (no cats with stock Ti). Took a couple friends for a ride when everything was finished. They could not believe the difference in the car.

Once again thanks to all for the help esp egash and frcbobby!

I suspect part of the 22 rwhp you are attributing to the tune is in fact the headers as well. I wouldn't have any problems saying the headers netted you an additional 50 rwhp.

Those are beautiful headers... for those asking the AIR pump only operates on cold start. It injects fresh air into the exhuast stream to help the cats fire off for cold start emissions testing. I've never had an issue and deleted mine years ago.

OP... have you fully removed your AIR system? I'm going back to stock and looking for an AIR pump... I sold mine.

thanks everyone.

cobra4b i only removed the tubes and left the pump installed. Just in case i ever go back to stock i figured it was better to leave it in place.

tom thanks for the great headers. i could not be happier with them. the build quality, the sound, the fit and the results are great. glad to see you made similar numbers because there is always someone who wants to call b.s. lol. My car was in the mid to high 380 rwhp range for the first 3 or so hours. my tuner really did a great job on the tune.

spent the day driving the car and i just love this car. This is the best sounding car i have ever had. The power and street manners are perfect. You can feel the power in any gear no matter what rpm. I need to order a set of drag radials and hit the track. Really want to see what the car will do.

So what would the gains be if 1 3/4 tubes were used? I saw the post on LS1 tech and got the exact setup but went with the 1 3/4 headers.By the time he posted his #'s my headers were sitting in the garage.Prolly should have went the 1 7/8 route. But oh well.
