My question is, how do you tell which you have? Shale looks like a slightly lighter color but it seems like only some sights offer shale as a color option for floor mats, etc. Any input?
Im about to have a oak and shale interior, the shale interior is two tone, not sure which of the two colors is "shale" but the darker of the two has a grayish brownish tint to it, the lighter is a very light beige looking color
According to the Corvette Black Book, Shale was offered only in the `03 Anniversary Red and the `04 LeMans Blue. Shale has a slightly grayish look compared to Light Oak.
shale only comes in the aniversary models right? Did I hear that somewhere?
No,,shale was the color chosen for the Anniversary Edition,,but it has been in a lot of other cars. It was a popular combo with the Navy Blue Metallic exterior!!
Gotcha. The darn color swatch they had as an example looked really tan on on site. I finally checked the color code in the cargo area...if all else fails rtdt i guess. Thanks guys.

I believe another way to confirm whether it is Oak or Shale is by the color of the dash/accents. If they are black, you have the oak. If they are taupe, you have the shale.
Also note that there is a light grey interior that is pretty close to shale but that also has the black dash accent/accents.
But all shale interiors have the taupe moldings on the doors and center console (right?), and all oak would come with black....if so, I agree with Cozmo - that is the quickest way to tell what you are dealing with
...or has anyone seen shale seats/carpet with black doors/center console?
Ok,,I give,by no means an expert!! But WHAT was the light gray called in all the other cars?? I've seen several,,was looking at a NBM that had it (he didn't call it by name)!!

I have a '01 navy blue coupe with a light gray interior. It is "not" shale, it is called light gray. They did not make a shale interior with the NBM.
