I have a '97 with the SLP loudmouth rear section. I really like the looks of the four monster tips that stick out the back. The problem is, last year when I took it out of storage, I was pulled over. He layed on the ground with a flashlight and noticed no mufflers. He was cool and didnt even give me a written warning. I know my luck wont hold out for long. I have been looking to put something under there and keep my rear section. I think I found a solution. Its Borla p/n#60061 and has a resonator that will at least "look" like a muffler. Is anybody running this part? I have thought about running an x-pipe with 4" round mufflers, but Im not sure if they would fit. What can I do and still KEEP the SLP? Please help!

Mid America SLP Loudmouth I exhaust with resonators part # 638-070
" " SLP Loudmouth II (extra sound absorbtion material) part #
638-521
If the police officer noticed no "mufflers", you have the SLP Loudmouth exhaust part # 622-405. That system has no mufflers/resonators.
Those part numbers are for the c6. The SLP loudmouth system I am using is P/N 622-405 from mid-am. I want to keep that rear section, and have something between the cats and the SLP.

OOP's, my bad.
Strange, they're not offering a resonator system for the C5?!?!?
The Borla's might be your best choice if you want to keep the same look and drop the volume. A friend of mine has the Borla's and they do sound good. Better, I think, than the Corsa's. Another friend has the Corsa's and there's a big difference between the two. Corsa's sound like a motorboat at idle.
