DexCool is good for 100K miles or 5 years, whichever comes first. If it were my car, I would be changing the coolant. Probably do a radiator flush along with it.

thanks for the reply.........looks like a coolant change for me...........
With only 14K on it ....Take a look at the fluid. If it still has the original color (or close to) not brown or muddy looking then just leave it alone.
The manufacture's spec is 5 year because they are trying to sell more. It does not go bad sitting in the engine and unlike cast iron blocks you're not getting any rust contamination.
Do yourself a favor after doing a search on this.
Get the "other" drain valve, the one with the tab on it. It will come in handy should the crummy stock one break, and on future changes.
Change it! Your car is 7 years old..My 99 only has 35k miles on it and I plan another change in a month...I'm going by the 5yr rule..NOT MILEAGE...Did it once in 04 so it's time again..
Hi There:
I changed the coolant on my 01 vette at 6 years.Coolant was very clean & no temp. problems.I,am looking in my log book 6/14/07 12,434 miles. A few months later I changed clutch fluid , brake & tranny fluid.(all the fluids were factory) The brake fluid & tranny fluid were dirty.I only noticed a change in the transmission. The shifting was a lot smoother & no notchyness going into 1st gear(6spd.) No change in the braking of the car.
If you are worried about the coolant. You can do a refracto meter test.
Put the black lead on the batt. negative cable & the red lead into the coolant. You should see a 0.20 volt reading or less, if higher flush & change the coolant.
