Just curious why you need to have the Vette insured by itself and not on a multi-car policy?
Because my daughter is 18 going on 19 and my son is about to get his drivers license and he's 16. With my current policy I have the Vette, our Tahoe and my daughters Jeep Liberty all on the same policy. My former ins. agent to me that my policy went up in price due to the fact that I have all of us on the same policy with the cars. Thus my teenage daughter and son will have access to the Vette. And it doesn't matter that either one of them CAN'T drive a 6-speed.
So I'm looking to go with a separate policy for just me and Vette.
mine is insured through. cost you less. the cheapest i could get it for was 79 a month. im also only 18 and have 1 speeding ticket on my record. i got a better policy with ALOT more coverage and i spend 129 a month. everywhere else quoted me about 450 a month because of the car and my age. hope this helps
As you have it they rate the youngest driver to the highest rated vehicle. Many companies still ask how many drivers in household and how many cars. Geico and Progressive usually do not need the other cars to be insured. The better vette only companies like grundy and haggerty require the car to not be a daily driver. It has to appear as though the other car does not exist to your current company. Even if a child may drive the car once in a blue moon or never but still has the ability to get the keys from the house and take off the carrier is on the hook. A few companies will let you put a driver exclusion on a particular car on the stand alone policy. I am an agent in Louisiana and our company requires everyone in the home to be on the policy unless like a collector car , but has to be restrictive use.
