Default C5 trunk size?

Okay I know I'm asking WAYYY too many questions but I want to make sure everything is right before I take off on my trip.

How big is the trunk area for C5 (targa top coupe)? If possible, can anyone approximate the dimensions?

My buddy who's already going to be down at Orlando wants to ride back with me next week, and I think both of us will have the typical carry-on luggage. The limit on those carry-on is 9x14x22. Does anyone know if there's any problem with that? We will probably also have 2 laptops cases/backpacks.

I tried searching the forum/internet but I couldn't find any pictures that give me a good idea of how much stuff you can fit into the trunk.

Thanks again as usual for those who are helpful!

I can fit two sets of golf clubs with the top back there. Does that help?

Pictures speak louder then words... The backpack in the picture is quite a bit larger then your average Jansport backpack. If you can fit it in the overhead bin on an airplane you'll hve no trouble at all fitting it in the trunk of a C5.

I should also mention, these pics are a convertable with the top down so trunk space is almost halved do to the top being folded up in the front half...

Good pics, but I think he was asking about a coupe,,

To answer your question on space, yes there is tons of room with a coupe, as long as you don't put the targa top in the trunk. It's amazing how much room there is. I've taken my car on many vacations with lots of luggage,, no problem

The Coupe has more trunk/hatch space than my wife's Honda Accord.

At the risk of being flamed, with two women it might be iffy getting their luggage to fit in the C5 hatch. However, you could fit 4 guys worth of luggage in there, easily...

That sounds good. I don't see the having the targa being in the trunk when you're cruising at 65mph on the interstate.

I think we'll be fine then.

So no one has pictures of the trunk of a coupe?

People have been known to carry 4 wheels and tires in the back of a coupe.

Does that give you an idea of the space available?

You will have plenty of room left over with 2 carryon suitcases, 2 laptop bags, and 2 backpacks.

I fit a fullsize ironing board in my C5. The trunk is massive.

I believe the coupe has 23 cubic feet of trunk. You'll have plenty of room for carry on luggage & a hitch hiker.

I think there is something like 23 cubic feet of space back there. I went on several long trips in mine and trust me, you can pack a lot of stuff back there.

This is a Good shot of the entire trunk area. The box at the top is a Kleenex box.

According to my '99 brochure, the targa coupe has 24.8 square feet of storage. Lots of room. I take mine food shopping now. With five full paper bags, the back is only about 1/3 full. The rear window is high enough that most stuff won't black the rear view.

Does anyone have approximate measurements of the C5 trunk area? I'm thinking of buying one and need to carry a couple guitar amps and guitars.

I know it's a pain to aks, so I really appreciate your help.

Thanks!
