It is time for new tires and maybe wheels. I have been reading that there are different TPM for 97-2000 and 2001 - up for C5's. Did GM just change technology, or does it have anything to do with larger wheel sizes or anything like that?
I would like to put z06 size wheels on my 97 and want to make sure I can still use my existing sensors? After further thinking while I type this, I assume I would have to use my current ones or the receiver might not pick up the signal.
I have also seen that the the battery life was planned for about 10 years and the the 97-2000 TPMs are are 3 times as much as for the newer c5's. Should I replace my exisiting ones? Are there good aftermarket solutions?
TIA. This forum is awesome for someone like me who does not know much!!!
i switched from 98 stock wheels to stock z06 wheels and had the tire place switch my sensors to the z06 wheels. I have had no problems and have been running them for 2 years now. knock on wood
