Default rpm regulator?

my dad just got a 01 vette.. it has some mods but no idea what... only thing visual i seen was cai. slot/drill- brakes... thats it... but when i drive his compared to my bone stock 03 its a big diff.. his is much quicker and responsive. well when he gets to the 6k redline mark it just stops the power. it just sounds like the video games repeating its self with annoyance. it feels like it can go plenty more power right to the mark and say STOP lol so idk any suggestions?

I'd say you're bouncing off the rev limiter, the stock limiter is set at 6k...

As far as the difference in responsiveness there could be some other Mods that are hidden perhaps. Believe it or not mine had a velocity stack installed in the TB and I removed it when installing my CAI. I immediantly lost some throttle response, re-installed it and it came back...

Also every car's different... Maybe your plugs need cleaned, CATS slightly plugged ect...

Tuner software, handhelds would be a good choice if you have an Auto. Didn't check your profile... sorry.

You might be able to con your dealer into doing it with their Tech II...

You'd be surprised at what happens to a car if it sits alot, back in the day I'd say"Take it our for a good rip and blow the carbon out of it" but I'm not sure that's applicable anymore!

I hear that!!

Just my .02 but I'd opt for a custom tune. A good tuner will tell iyou if there is something acting up on your car too...
