Shifter debate please helpp.
Ok guys well I am modding the car like crazy and i want to get a new shifter I hate the stock ball on the C5 and i want a smaller throw.
So I heard the c6 shifter is the **** so I was going to order that. But now I find out people are saying the best ting around is the MGW shifter.
does anyone have the new version of the mgw. Also what **** do you have in it.
Please give me feedback on both shifters I want to order it this week.
thanks,
Edgard

There is no debate. I've run C5, C6, B&M Ripper and now MGW with the barrel ****. By far the best setup!
Give George a call. You'll be glad you did.
BTW: This is the only mod on my car. Other than that it's stock.

I've got a B&M ripper that I like a lot but I've heard great things about the MGW shifters from way back when before they made anything for the vette's.
If I had a legit reason to switch out the B&M I would try the MGW.

You can't lose. I went with used Hurst because people are dumping them for MGW's. For $100 or so it's much better than stock -- and you have almost infinite centering spring adjustability. You can also do the "antivenom" mod to deal with notchiness which I may do in the spring (but the notchiness seems to go away with time, probably just getting used to it).
So I think it's like like this:
MGW ($250) > Hurst ($100 used) > C6 ($50) > Stock
Like I said, you can't lose.
Oh, and I stayed with the stock ****. Cheap, ergonomically nice, cheap...

Here is my MGW. Great shifter, and easy to install. Hard to belive the car could be more fun to drive, but it is.
You can use any **** with a 9/16 X 18 thread.
