I just got a small suv that I will be using now as my daily driver with the vette for use only when its nice out. Anyhow, I am looking for opinions on which outdoor car cover is the best.

thanks,

My vette's a weekend warrior and is stored under a cover, outside, the rest of the time. Yes... I live in San Diego, but the sun is relentless and down by the ocean the winds do pick up and there's dew almost every night.
I use a CoverKing and am very pleased with it's performance. When the cover comes off, 99% of the time it's as clean as when I put the cover on.
But remember, don't cover a dirty car (dirt+ cover= sandpaper) and snug down the cover (wind+ flapping cover= sandpaper)

I have Five C5 Corvettes and use the same All-Weather Car Cover. The Introguard - only cover with a Lifetime Warranty. I believe the best deal is from CAA with free embroidery and free shipping.
Car covers seem to really do more harm than good in many cases.
Is there a good argument for this. I keep the car outside in a driveway, should I just keep a good coat of wax on it and wash periodically or cover? I just assumed the cover would be better.
It's just another opinion...like "do you or don't you use a front end bra?"
With either a bra or a car cover, installing them over a dirty car (or leaving on a wet car) or allowing wind to buffet them may cause damage to the paint surface.
I use a car cover in my shop for dust control. The CALIFORNIA CAR COVER COMPANY cover I use is a high tech light weight fabric. It can be folded down into the size of a trunk compartment cubby hole. It can be cleaned in a home washer and dryer.
No dust gets through it. It's primarily for indoors, but could be used outdoors overnight if necessary. I wash the car immediately after a run and cover it. It's always clean that way. It stays covered for six months of hibernation. There is no damage done to the paint.
I also use a bra on the front of my car all the time. It's installed over a clean surface. It's tight (SPEED LINGERIE) and has never caused any damage to the paint.
Common sense use (read the manufacturers recommendations) will not result in any damage...

If the car is NOT clean, and you CAN'T cinch down the cover..... leave the cover off...
If both of the above conditions are met, you will have no problem. I have been using a cover for two years with no ill effects, but I follow the above two rules religiously!!
